Rainy day outing

The players:
J & J = my husbands brother & his lovely wife
Chuck & Barb = my husband & I
J sprained his ankle in a volleyball game this past Tuesday. Instead of having it checked out, he walked and worked on it for the rest of the week. Can we all say insane? Like a good boy, he did stay off his foot all day Saturday. Today rolls around and he's a bit stir crazy, he gives us a call to see what was on today's agenda. Hmmm nothing.... it's raining.
According to J, that was no excuse and said he and J were on there way over.
Not a problem.. we ended up going to the movies, the guys saw Green Zone which they loved and J and I saw Bounty Hunter, to me, what you see in the trailers are about the best parts in the movie. I love collecting DVD's, Bounty Hunter will probably not be in my collection.
Then off to dinner at Beef O'Brady's (sports bar) the husbands wanted to catch the basketball games, unfortunately, we just missed our game but we did hear that our team won. Woot Woot!

I pulled a dad move this morning

If my dad were alive today and saw me do what I did, I would totally be busted and he would be laughing at me.
I had my usual breakfast this morning of coffee and toast. I placed the toast on a piece of papertowel, grabbed the book I was reading and began to eat my toast. When I was done, I went to the trash can, shook out the papertowel, folded it and placed it in a dish for use for another time. While I was doing that, I was thinking to myself no sense in throwing it away it only had a few crumbs.
Just after putting it into the dish, I thought oh oh that was totally a dad move and thought. I shook my head and smiled. I always thought that that was an old persons move. Hmmm am I showing my age?
Another dad move was to tear a sheet of papertowel off the roll then tear it in half. I asked him why he did that and his response was.."it's to big, I don't need a big piece just half." Well you know they now make papertowels in various sizes and you tear what you need. Hmm I guess my dad had something there way back in the day.
Have a nice day all!

A Beautiful Weekend

Ahhh can you smell it? Spring is just around the corner and most of the country is ready for fresh air and new blooms.
My husband and I ran around town this past weekend checking out the local happenings. It was such a pretty spring day I couldn't help but take tons of pictures.
My husband and I moved to this city 2 years ago and I have to say, I just love it here. We decided to rent rather than purchase for a couple of reasons. One, we weren't sure of the town and the other.... we weren't sure that once he finished his schooling if Florida is where we would hunker down. But I really love this area, the subdivision is in the upper end of the town and it's surrounded by farms..... horses, cows and a few growers.
Enjoy the pictures of my weekend.

A Great Time In Savannah With The Girls

I had so much fun meeting up with the girls in Savannah GA. We all agreed that 2 full days just wasn't enough time. We visited Paula Deens shop and ate at her restaurant. The food was seriously yummy.
Waiting in line just to reserve a lunch spot

Chicken.. part of her buffet.

Crab cake beans & rice

Fried Green Tomatoes
We hitched a ride on a trolley which took us around the historic district and also gave us our bearings and where we wanted to go back to.
The most exciting for me, was sneaking out in the early in the morning while the others still slept and taking pictures of some of the arcitecture in the city.

We all did a lot of walking and a lot of shopping. Some of the shops were just too cute. Enjoy the rest of the pictures of this and that.
